The Story Behind The Belt

When the tag titles started. ROH introduced the championship at Unscripted on 21 September 2002 and ran a tournament to crown the first champions. Christopher Daniels and Donovan Morgan, wrestling as The Prophecy, won it.

When it became a world championship. The titles were known as the ROH Tag Team Championship until 2006, when then-champions Austin Aries and Roderick Strong defended them against Masato Yoshino and Naruki Doi in Japan. They have been the ROH World Tag Team Championship since.

Who defined the division. The Briscoe Brothers hold the record with thirteen reigns across twenty years, and they were reigning champions when Jay Briscoe died in January 2023. Our tribute build marks that career.

How to clean lettering. Use a dry microfibre cloth across the face and a soft dry brush along the letter edges. Dust collects along engraved lettering and makes it read grey rather than gold.

How to keep a pair matched. If you intend to own both belts, keep them in the same room from the day the first arrives, since heat and light age straps at different rates.

How to store the leather. Hang the belt at full length or lay it flat, away from radiators and direct sunlight. Folding leaves a permanent crease behind the centre plate.

What to do if something comes loose. Contact us before attempting a repair, because adhesive stains plating around the seam permanently.
