Plate metal. Zinc SD die-casts the detail cleanly at the friendliest price. Zinc CNC machines each plate, so edges stay crisper. Brass runs denser and carries the most weight on the waist.

Plate thickness. A 2mm or 4mm build stays light enough to wear for hours. A 6mm or 8mm build adds depth that suits a display case.

Engraving. CNC etching cuts deeper than stamping, so the lettering keeps sharp edges under display lighting.

The Story Behind The Belt

NJPW announced this title on October 5, 2012 as its sixth active championship, built around the NEVER event series for younger and outside talent. It was the first title to carry the NEVER name, followed in 2015 by the six-man tag version. Masato Tanaka won a sixteen-man tournament to become the first champion on November 19, 2012 in Tokyo, beating Karl Anderson in the final. He held it 314 days across four defences. The openweight name means any division can challenge, though NJPW also files it as a heavyweight title. Fans sometimes search for it as an IWGP belt, but NEVER runs as its own line.  NJPW applied the same openweight rule years later to the Strong Openweight Championship.
